The Nutty 4th Up North || Personal

I admit it, I've been MIA on the blog train and I apologize, but after all it is summer and sometimes the last thing I want to do is sit inside on a hot sunny day :-)  I couldn't help but sit down tonight to reflect on the amazing week I just had up in Hayward, WI though. The whole Nutty family spent the week up north at a beautiful cabin we rented on Round Lake. My Aunt and Uncle and twin cousins flew in from California and my Grandma and other Aunt and Uncle and cousin, Elizabeth, drove up from Ames, IA. It was a NUTTY reunion! I feel truly blessed to have had the time to spend with these amazing people, especially my parents who took the time to organize it all. There really is nothing that beats the northwoods, family time, bonfires, the stars and well, cabin life.

Beth + Josh || Maternity

Where do I even begin with this amazing session. Beth is one of my wonderful co-workers at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital, and I was extremely humbled when she asked me to capture her current pregnancy. You see, Beth and her husband Josh have been through a lot this last year, and this pregnancy is both a miracle and a gift; so to help them remember this special moment means the world to me and was such a good reminder of why I do what I do. Rain was forecasted for our session, which I was extremely disappointed about. Lucky for me, Beth, Josh + their son, Charlie, were troopers and totally took advantage of our session together (despite the down pouring rain). Even so, I couldn't help but walk away from the session with very little confidence about what I was able to capture. Boy, was I stunned when I uploaded the images and started editing. Beth, Josh + Charlie's love for each other, and for this new bundle of joy, radiated out of the images. Once again, this sweet little family brought me back down to earth and reminded me that the weather, the location or the time of day do not make the photographs extraordinary; it is the people and those candid moments that do. This is quite possibly one of my favorite sessions and will always mean a lot to me. Thank you Beth, Josh and Charlie for being you.

Cort || Children

This guy. Words can't describe how incredibly adorable this child is. He belongs to two of my very good friends, Lauren and Jordan, and lucky for me he only lives down the street! I can't believe how fast this little man is growing up! This session was long overdue, but totally worth the wait. He's crawling, talking, laughing, and so much fun to be around! Enjoy his cuteness!
