Jess + Clay || Proposal

You guys, I love proposals.
And lucky for me, I was able to capture two of my very good friends
committing to each other forever last weekend!
There is nothing more special than being able to freeze a moment in time
for people. It is absolutely why I love the art of photography!

Anyway, on to the good stuff. Clayton is a good friend of my husband's and he met his fiancée (eek!) just after we graduated from UW-Madison. Jess and I quickly became good friends and let's just say we've been waiting for this proposal to happen for quite some time ;-).
The ploy was their adorable new puppy, Remy.
Unbeknownst to myself, Clayton had an elaborate plan to get down on one knee during a session the three of us planned to document their little bundle of fur before he gets to be full grown.

We had found a remote area in the woods, and before I knew it Clayton was discretely flashing a beautiful diamond ring at me revealing his intentions.
I about lost my sh*t!
The next thing I knew, Clayton was down on his knee, and I was there to capture it all.
I couldn't have been more honored to have been apart of it!
We then popped some champagne to celebrate.

Clay and Jess- Congratulations!
Wishing you two a lifetime of happiness and love.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for including me in your special moment!

Cat + Chris || Engagement

These two. Seriously, we had way too much fun at their engagement session.
We explored the Pine Tree Apple Orchard on a gloomy, foggy day
but their love couldn't have been brighter (super cheesy, I know, but so true).
 Not to mention the fog made for some cool pictures!
Chris kept us laughing the entire session and I'm just so pleased with how genuine each image is. They truly describe Cat + Chris perfectly!

Holiday Mini Sessions

Last November, I hosted my first ever Holiday Mini Session at Revak Nursery in Lakeville, MN.
You guys, this nursery is beautiful.
Aside from the sun shining, the weather was absolutely MISERABLE.
It was 15 degrees but it felt like -50!
I debated and debated whether or not to cancel (retrospectively, I should have)
but honestly,despite the cold, the end results were better than I imagined!

I can't thank my clients enough for coming out to support me that day
and for dealing with the miserably cold windchill.
I hope to repeat a session like this this year, but I'll definitely be doing it earlier in the season!

Here's some of my favorites:

The North Shore || Personal

Last month, my husband and I had a weekend getaway with our good friends Cullen and Kelsey. The north shore of Minnesota is one of my favorite places to be. Its beauty is indescribable and there is nothing better than cozy-ing up to a warm handmade fire, listening to the sounds of Lake Superior crash onto shore. These are just a sample of some photos I snapped while we were there.
